THE STRONG COMEBACK OF CROCHET- ANI COUTURE STYLE
GERMANTOWN, MD- Crochet is not for grandma anymore. NO more potholders and towel toppers. Crochet has been connected with potholders, towel toppers and afghans for many years. "Well not today and definitely not at my young age", says Marsha "Ani" Weaver, owner and designer of Ani Couture, a company that centers around unique and ecclectic crochet, knit handmade apparel and accessories.
Ani has partnered with her husband, Sekiu Muhammad, VP of Ani Couture and co-owner of Nkechi Ani, a personal shopping, image consulting and stylist company.
Ani got her start with crocheting when she was six. It started with the usual afghans & granny squares, but eventually evolved into crochet berets and ties for herself and family members. It has been hook and yarn ever since. She started Ani Couture in 2000 and implemented the construction of her website in January of this year.
Ani-Couture.com offers crochet and knit apparel for the entire family. A section is dedicated to designers, stylists and companies in the fashion industry interested in working with and creating exclusive pieces with Ani. Ani also has an online ezine, Ani's Bulletin which features Nkechi Ani as well as the latest trends, designers and information on crochet and knit couture, events and lifestyles.
This unique and soon to be success of crochet, fashion and lifestyles is something grandma always wanted to do- but just didn't know how.
